The Challenge

R&CPMK was behind the launch of Whipshots, the groundbreaking vodka-infused whipped cream from Starco Brands and cultural icon Cardi B. Tasked with creating a tidal wave of awareness for consumers with a focus on young Millennials and older Gen Z, the team developed a social-first launch strategy and media takeover.

The solution

Whipshots content debuted via Cardi B’s Instagram by music video guru Jora Frantzis, followed by a program called the ‘Whip Drop’ promoting limited release sales on social media. Each day consumers had access to 500 cans only available via Cardi and the brand channels. Simultaneously the team arranged for Whipshots activations at Miami’s hottest nightclubs during Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the year’s biggest cultural moments. Additionally, R&CPMK oversaw, produced and executed an extravaganza at the Good Time Hotel with over 300 people during Art Basel to officially launch the product – complete with Cardi B hosting the evening.

The impact

Celebrities, media and VIPs enjoyed Whipshots cocktails and decadent desserts and filled their social feeds with the product.  Complementing the social and IRL activations, there was a flurry of media hits in Thrillist, Buzzfeed, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, HYPEBAE, High Snobiety, The Cut, The Today Show, TMZ, Elite Daily, and more.
